For this last unit of the year, you have the freedom to choose what you want to learn more about and go deeper in your learning of photography.
This is an amazing opportunity for you to explore a topic in the realm of photography that you've always been interested in, or to revisit a unit we covered earlier in the Semester and take it further.
Unit Outcomes:
#1 1 (if heavily processed) or 3 ( or more if a series) photographs (high resolution and ready to print) posted in Flickr in an album (title with the name of the project) You also need to drop your photos into the Student-Teacher Workfolder < Digital Imagery so I have a copy of your final photos at the highest resolution.
#2 Tumblr Reflection (questions prompts below to help)
Your Tumblr Reflection should include:
- Your final photo, or if a series, 1 of your favorites to represent the series.
- At least 2 photos, if not more of your process (this can be practice images or a couple images of the different stages of your work, like screenshots)
- Introduction to your project: The driving question, why you were interested to explore this topic, who/what was the inspiration for you to try this out... (you may use your project proposal here)
- Summary of PROCESS: What did you have to experiment with, try out, set up, plan for in order to make this happen? What problems or challenges came up and how did you deal with them? What new surprises did you have while making this work? Any changes to your project as you went along with your work?
- Finished project reflection: What's the title of your finished piece? Is it successful or not and why? Does it tell a story? What did you aim to express? How do your final photos demonstrate your deeper understanding of the Compositional Guidelines and Design Principles?
- What was the most challenging part about this project? What could have been improved? How could you develop this further?
- What are you proud of in terms of this finished project? What new ideas/wonderings do you have now that you finished this piece?
Remember that your actual photographs will be graded based on the quality of the photo.
You need to think about:
-The elements of ART
-The principles of DESIGN
-The guidelines of Composition
-Excellent Craftsmanship
and THIS :Storytelling!
Are you interested in:
-exploring a theme through imagery?
-book cover design?
-fashion photography?
